Dear Gess Families,
Great news!
Chewelah School District Board approved our phase yellow plan to begin bringing back students in a hybrid face to face model. The plan can be located on the district website at www.chewelah.k12.wa.us.
Starting October 13th grades 1 –3 will be returning to school two days a week. The following week starting October 20th, grades K-8 will be phased in following the same model as grades 1-3, and finally on November 3rd our high school students will be phased back to school.
Students will be placed into two groups in order to reduce class size and maintain social distancing. Group A will attend school on Tuesday/Thursday and Group B will attend school on Wednesday/Friday.
We have worked hard to keep families together. If we have missed anybody, please contact the Gess Office at (509) 685-6800 ext. 4002.
I invite families to attend the Chewelah School District Webinar being held on October 5, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. for a Q & A session. Building principals will be sharing their reopening plans with the community. A link can be found on the district website located under the calendar.
Next week, families will be receiving a letter sharing the grouping your child will be in moving forward with face-to-face learning. In addition, an attestation sheet for daily health screening will be in the envelope to be filled out and ready to be handed to building staff upon entry to the building or boarding the bus for their first day back.
More information to follow as we move into next week. Here at Gess Elementary we are so excited to have the opportunity to work once again face to face with our students.
Be safe, be well.
