News & Announcements

6th Grade Sports

6th graders can participate in all junior high sports with the exception of football. I have attached the flyer which was distributed last year in the spring.

I updated the flyer with the latest information regarding the vaccine and testing requirements for basketball and wrestling, which are available for girls in Winter 1 sports which begin October 27.

There is no form to fill out. Rather, families need to register in FamilyID, provide a current sports physical, submit their Emergency Care Plan to Nurse Kassi (if necessary), and purchase a junior high ASB card.

Positive COVID Result

Dear Gess Families,

Late yesterday afternoon we learned that a person at Gess had tested positive for COVID-19. We have followed through with our mitigation protocols and have identified and contacted any close contacts.

I would like to thank everyone for the effort your make to follow the at home screening procedures and the effort you all make to keep your students' home when they are ill or being tested for COVID-19.

To offset the hardship of seeking a testing location the Chewelah School District is offering COVID-19 testing for families. Please contact your school building if testing is needed (509)-685-6800 ext.4015.
